An ode for the era of pencil and paper.
Hark the wail like banshees in the night,
Computer chips screaming,
Current in flight.
Oh for the days of pencil in hand,
The mind uninhibited,
By robotic bland.
The CADs have taken over,
Paper sits still on drafting board,
Venus pencils sit silently,
Unsharpened and stored.
The price of speed,
Are chained Muses,
The price of ease,
Generic structures and uniform trees.
And as I saw it, I see it again,
The death of bland,
The birth of magnificence, splendor,
all brought forth by hand.
