As long as you keep in mind there's a new architecture on the horizon. Both AMD and Intel have made some breakthroughs in photoetching recently. Now they have it down to 30 NM, which could mean an entirely new generation of CPU chips coming in the next couple of years.
We may be seeing speeds as high as 5 to 10 GHTZ fairly soon. (So they claim..........)
I still wonder who might need anything that fast for home use. But, someone will dream up an entriely new set of Apps for it when it comes.
(Now, if I could just get Broadband.)
