Some people believe they have seen UFOs, and therefore aliens are here and are abducting people. There are serious nuts out there, and one has to look closely at the evidence. For religious beliefs there is no evidence, just a set of rules to live by, like any other set of rules. The existence of a billion Christians is not evidence that they are correct in their beliefs in the supernatural, merely that they share the same set of basic life rules, and are willing to accept their differences on non-concrete issues, for example whether God is female, or male.
