Friends from the lake, their son hiked the whole PCT a few years ago, from the US/Mexico border right to Manning Park (that's not him) just a bit away from here in BC... all by himself, though his Dad dropped off supplies at a few locations where the trail crossed highways. Lately he's been roller-blading across Australia...

Good luck with the invention, too - sounds promising!
