It would be a terrific mistake
It was a perfectly awful mistake to go to war in Iraq in the first. For that failure in judgement, George Bush will have a place in American history as one of this nation's absolute worst presidents. But pulling out without finishing the job would be even more tragic. We have a responsibility to the Iraqi people to leave Iraq as a stable, confident democratic state. Perhaps we'll be able to accomplish this after we've replaced the current President and Congress with people more competent to pull this off.
