Allah is the God of the Bible. According to Islam, Judaism and Christianity are underclassmen in the same school with them. It's those other people -- Buddhists, Taoists, Shintoists, Hindus, animists, humanists, and so on -- who are truly heathen.
Jesus is not God, but a revered prophet. He is subservient not only to Allah (aren't we all?) but also to Muhammed, who, as the Seal of the Prophets, is the key individual in the history of humanity. According to Islam.
This is kind of a problem....
It's not so much, "don't you want to be religious?" I think they know the answer to that when talking to Bush & Co. It's more, "don't you want to be the right kind of religious?", i.e., their kind of religious.
Also, the invitation itself is significant. Muslims are not permitted to attack infidels without first offering them an opportunity to convert. The proper form has been maintained. We've been served.
I wonder if anyone noticed...
