The news report on the Today Show this morning added that Reid's office stated that Reid, who they said doesn't attend prizefights, accepted the tickets as part of his research into the sport so that he could be more informed during the discussions about its regulation. Well, gee! That explains it, then!

Mr. Reid could have pried open his wallet and done his research on his own nickel.
