The key is to stand for something besides knee jerk opposition.
Make real proposals rather than just vote against the oppositions or rehash failed ones.
For example:
Admit Clintons failures versus terrorism and state what you would different rather than offer the same failed policies as an alternative to another failed policy.
Offer a better energy policy.
Offer an GW policy that focuses as much on national security as and energy costs as doomsaying.
I really don't want to vote for people just because they "oppose an idiot" who keeps beating them.
