Sheesh - call yerselves sci-fi fans??? ;-)
Holy Grail and Life of Brian - ample supply of quotes for every known situation in life.
Dogma - The only Kevin Smith movie I like, and I like it a lot.
Ben Hur/Ten Commandments/El Cid - back when Chuck was an idol, not a crazy old coot with a gun.
Planet of the Apes - the first one and only the first one.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - Johnny Depp shoulda got an Oscar for this. Includes best in-movie song ever - the Mike Teevee one.
This is Spinal Tap - too funny for words.
Wag the Dog - at that time I could watch DeNiro watching paint dry. Recently, he's been like watching paint dry.
Jungle Book - the Disney one. Hurry up and release it on DVD already!!!
Highlander - only the first one. Even with the strings at the end. Even with a Portuguese guy with a Scottish accent, and a Scottish guy with the weirdest accent ever filmed.
Great Escape - for some reason was on UK TV every Easter weekend. I'd watch it every time and twice on Sunday.
Jaws - for me, Spielbergs pinnacle. Went downhill thereafter.
Guilty pleasures
Reign of Fire - monumentally silly, but well (over)acted. Not enough dragons. Christian Bale is even more sullen than in Batman. Maconaghy plays a convincly insane nutcase.
Scorpion King - a more friendly Conan.
Conan the Barbarian/the Destroyer - heck, these should be up top, not consigned to the silly stuff.......
Star Wars - all of em, even Phantom Menace. There, I said it.
Midas Touch - Richard Burton, not at his finest. Not sure why this bad movie lingers in my mind.
