Kiss of Death, 1947 with Victor Mature and Richard Widmark as Tommy Udo (noir)
Vertigo, 1958 with Kim Noval and Jimmah Stewart (Hitchcock) (noir)
Psycho, 1960 I was twenty and it still scared the hell out of me.
A Face In The Crowd, 1957 with Andy Griffith. Just to throw in an obscure one that was excellent
War of The Worlds, 1953
Forbidden Planet, 1956
A Kiss Before Dying, 1956 with Robert Wagner, Jeffrey Hunter and Joanne Woodward (noir)
The Good The Bad and The Ugly, Agreed
Blood Simple, Agreed
The Lion In Winter, yes and add
Becket, 1964 Richard Burton.
When Worlds Collide, 1951 Maybe not so good but I loved it as a kid and I must have watched it a dozen times and read the novel at least that many times.
A dozen can't touch the flicks that I have enjoyed almost equally.
