It's not so much a lust for American failure as it is validation.

Having committed themselves to a cause when everything in their life is bad, they seek validation in something removed from themselves.

The same thing goes on every day over the world with spectator sporting events - when folks root for their team. Sure they're sitting on their behinds doing nothing, but just the fact that they have mentally aligned themselves with the team means they can enjoy that sense of validation when they win. Spectator sports has a major downside and false validation is it.

Of course when "their team" lose they amplfy their "loser" baggage and immediately try to disassociate.

When Gary called some folks here somewhat traitorous, it is only because they now seek their validation in American failure in Afghanistan, Iraq and in the war on terror.

As such, to any outside observer Bowser's "team" becomes Al Qaeda, Al Sadr, Hezbollah, etcetera. As evidenced by the post above and most other HZ leftiestm posts.

Gary was wrong, because most of the ones rooting for US failure aren't even from the US, but are from Canada or Australia or, if they are citizens, have long ago mentally abrogated their identification with the United States because of a leftist persecution complex.

That's the danger of seeking validation in the wrong things.
