There's no guarantee that humanity will pass through the "win-lose" phase of it's development.

Certainly many individuals don't, and their philosophy is much more attractive to the young and "masses", regarding the world as a large football league.

I don't think that respect for others will be learned fast enough to counter the genetic drive to dominate coupled with instruments of mass destruction.

Learning is optional, genes seem to be "built-in".
