Last time I looked, that one came in a regular hamburger bun. I don't eat breakfast sandwiches that come on a hamburger bun. I like biscuits, and will tolerate a mushy fast food croissant in an emergency.

Carl's Jr. has a smoked sausage sandwich that doesn't suck.

For the record, almost all fast food hamburgers seem to suck. Wendy's suck a bit less. As alcaray says above, Wendy's salads are very good.

There are plenty of grills around here that turn out a damn good burger if you're willing to wait for it. Clarke's cooks over real charcoal. A health place called Country Gourmet doesn't do fries, but their hamburger is worth crawling over broken glass for. Chili's does great burgers and good fries.

McDonald's fries are great if you get them fresh. Like minutes-old fresh. They have a half-life of about five minutes.

I mention fries a lot because I'm cutting back on them. Sigh...

I remember Arby's roast beef being a lot better some years ago than they are now. Maybe it's just me. I like the French Dip, which is, as Wolfe would say, edible. The student union cafe at Stanford used to do a great French Dip. The "au jus" was actual beef broth soup, with fresh celery and carrots swimming in it.

Arbys has some great salads and cold sandwiches now. Anybody can eat right at almost any fast food place if they want to. The "Super Size Me" guy is full of crap. Probably literally, now.

I just noticed: Any dad with two teenagers could make a living writing fast food reviews.
