Wait for the other side to screw up and pounce. Sure don't expect the Republican's to come up with some great idea to benefit middle america and seep in on a positive message. They are in too much a state of denial to radically reform. Democrats though are making good progress on option one with some claiming a mandate to pull out of Iraq immediately when they ran like hell from campaigning specifically for that in most cases (except of course for some notable loosers). Another major terrorist attack on the Dems watch and the nation will become a whole lot more hawkish again just as it was after 911, and any laxness in fighting terrorism on the part of Democrats will cost them dearly. Still hoping the newly elected democrats will moderate the party, but the Murtha nomination makes Nancy look like she was blowing smoke after the election. Hope it fails miserably.
