You honestly don't understand what a victory for our enemies in Iraq and Afghanistan would mean for the future of our military and its credibility as any kind of force for our interests. Without that credibility as a precision force, all that's left is the bombs and the missiles.

You simply cannot get past Bush, who I have not mentioned once. The critical situation would be the same if Kerry, Gore, Clinton, or Howdy Doody were president. You have no conception of the history of this situation, of how our previous retreats have been perceived by our enemies, or what we are up against.

Bowser is contemptuous of concepts like "win" or "lose." This is why national security should not be in the hands of people who think the only objective of a conflict is to end the conflict by any means necessary, including surrender.

I hope to God that there are enough Democrats in Congress who can still see what's going on.
