Take a couple of examples. The CIA overthrew the democratically elected government of Iran and installed the Shah, and trained the SAVAK, his secret police. Should that irritate the Iranians with the US?
The US supplied Iraq with nerve gas and helped them deploy it. Should that have irritated the Iraqis?
Do you belive suicide bombers are motivated by "hating freedom", "hating democracy", and in general being jealous of your way of life?
Or is it something more substantial which drives those folks?
