We're not talking about the Irish, or the Chinese. To the best of my knowledge, neither came from a culture that fervently believes that the whole world should be Irish or Chinese.
I guess we'll see what happens.
As far as assimilation, three of the four London suicide bombers were born in England. The other one moved from Jamaica to the UK when he was five months old.
