re: Silent Running
Silent running was a pretty good film, considering the budget (most of it was filmed on an old aircraft carrier), but I just couldn't get past the ridiculous premise of having all the Earth's vegetation stuck on spaceships and flipped out into deep space. I can usually swallow one or even two silly premises in SF or fantasy, but that one was screwy on every level.
Fun to see the ancestors of R2-D2, though.
