Long time ago. Bought a simple computer, added stuff. All that stuff took power. The power supply was clearly too small when various things ran at the same time.
Aha, I thought. I have two older computers with similar power supplys, I will just have another supply share the load.
Opened the box, unplugged, plugged, fired her up, and nothing. Apparently there is too much power supply - computer - power supply - feedback for two to operate.
Knowing what I knew, and not knowing what I didn't know, it really did seem like a good idea.
