does "tax burden" only figure in taxes paid directly by individuals?
Or does it also include taxes on businesses? Our country went from one that got almost all of its governmental income from taxing businesses and tarrifs and none of its income from taxing its citizens... to one that relied mostly on taxation of its citizens. I don't recall when it started, and it is still going on. Point is, if your alarming screed is not accounting for taxes on business then you've got less than half of the story of what the numbers mean.
