You made the original statement. If there is one damn person left on this board actually capable of constructing a logical progression of thought based on a series of assumptions, follow up on it.
It's one week after 9/11. Your choice of president is in office. We are faced with a threat completely different than during the Cold War, needing new ideas and solutions. Isolationism is unrealistic. Occupation of Afghanistan and nation building new democracies is unrealistic. You will not accept the types of controls on the borders and domestic surveillance tactics that will defend against similar attacks. You cannot tolerate large numbers of U.S. casualties. Our enemy is located in Afghanistan, Pakistan, northern Iraq, and parts of Africa.
