No sense over-reacting. Needs to be studied. The research is inconclusive, I'm sure, as someone, somewhere will say that any energy problems are due to normal variations in summertime temperatures, leading to an overload on AC systems. Act of God. Out of our control. Natures way. Don't mess with Mother Nature. (Those normal variations are not due to global warming, by the way.) ((Or smog.))
Therefore, no sense conserving. Especially in wintertime, when the power plants need to keep operating so as to have them available in summertime. Excessive conservation will lead to expensive powerplant shutdowns, as there are far more days with comfortable temperatures than there are very, very hot days.
Gotta use common sense in all of this.
