Yeah , poisonous sustances SHOULD be allowed in foods at the sole discretion of the vendor, as long as it increases the bottom line, and people SHOULD be able to abuse their children whenever they want.
I tend to agree that banning incandescent bulbs is silly, though encouraging the use of alternatives tha genuinely used less power/caused less environmental harm, is a good idea.
But you picked the wrong comparisons.
