There are no ideas. Except to negotiate with Iran, Syria, et al. And Iraq isn't going to meet any meaningful benchmarks.
On a mountain or rock face it is possible to up-climb into a position from which one can not go any further up, and can't down-climb.
Bush has created a situation from which there is NO satisfactory solution. None. Everyone has lost. It's disingenuous to suggest that someone else come up with a way of winning or shut up.
Wise people will cut their losses.
