I think that's the only way to peace and stability, too.
Involve the countries in the region, get them interested in rebuilding Iraq, get them involved in seeing it remains peaceful. That's what the independent panel suggested.
The problem with that is it doesn't guarantee oil revenues for Halliburton, et al. It's giving up on Bush's control over the region.
Since Bush isn't interested in negotiating with the only folks who could help, and that has been brought to his attention in every way possible, it's clear Bush is more interested in oil than peace or stability. It has to be oil AND whatever. And the hell with the Iraqis.
