In a litter of "bad" ideas, this would strike me as the pick:
... negotiate with Iran, Syria, et al
In fact, it's probably not a bad idea at all. Whatever happens in Iraq really *should* be fundamentally ok with it's regional neighbors, otherwise all we've accomplished is to crank the heat up a notch.
I don't have any faith in W's admin to be able to honestly negotiate with either Iran of Syria, though. We just have to keep Bush from starting another war before he gets sent out to pasture, and hope the next Prez sees the US as more of a tennant of the earth, rather than the landlord.
