Name ONE strategic objective aside from the fall of Baghdad that has been decisively achieved by this civilian leadership?
Just strategic/foreign policy ones?
Removing the Taliban from rule in Afghanistan, destruction of over two-thirds of al Qaeda's structure there and elsewhere, free elections in Iraq, reconstruction of the Iraqi monetary system, creation of an Iraqi elected government acceptable to a wide range of interests, removal of Libya's WMD programs, continuing development of an ABM system, and enacting a major arms reduction treaty with Russia.
I'm not going to list the many things where Bush did not go along with the U.N. or international interests on any number of stupid ideas, because you probably don't see those as a plus.
As for the rest, why should I grant your predictions any more weight than my alternate history thinking has gotten here? Remember, the baseline behind all this kind of thinking is that if we had only occupied Afghanistan, and kept the no-fly zones and sanctions up in Iraq, that everything would be just swell right now, and into the indefinite future. Not one person has backed that up with anything realistic. I'm sorry, but war was declared on us a long time ago. The first attack was on 9/11, and the shit was inevitably going to hit the fan someplace, with the same chaotic results. Unless your theory is that Gore would have done nothing, or just bombed a few spots and gone home.
Iraq was quieter under Saddam, just like Iran was quieter under the Shah, and Yugoslavia quieter under Tito. Totalitarianism is nothing if not quiet. Do we really want to go in that direction with our foreign policy? Haven't we had enough during the Cold War of "our buddy the dictator?" Iraq and Afghanistan have at least a chance at a freer future. Before they had none.
As for the imminence of war, I'm not taking bets on things like what Israel might do, but I think things are more complicated there than you think. I've noticed that the "big nuclear announcement" Iran was going to make this week has been put off until April. Wouldn't mind knowing what was behind that.
