You were absolutely correct in everything you supported, and the people you voted in made the best possible choice in any universe.
Right. Try not to be an asshole. I'm already up to my ears in assholes on the internet.
Bush was not my ideal, and has certainly not made the best possible choices in many areas, but the alternatives I was given to Bush would have screwed things up a lot worse. Just differently.
I voted in 2000 based on economics more than anything. I wasn't looking at either candidate as Commander in Chief. I knew that Gore was, for all intents and purposes, a socialist, and Bush wasn't. Supreme Court judges were an issue, too, but much lower on my list. I knew which candidate would be more likely to push America toward statism, and which wouldn't. I have been disappointed that Bush did not do a thing to reduce the size of government, but I know that Gore would probably have done worse in that area.
After 9/11, I was just thankful that Gore wasn't the one who was going to be dealing with our enemies. I had also gotten a good look at how Gore dealt with setbacks, and I wasn't impressed.
In 2004 it was different, just like it was for most voters. If Kerry had been elected, we would have been out of Iraq ten minutes after his inauguration. What do you think would be going on over there right now? I've seen how Kerry deals with adversity, too, and he's even less impressive than Gore in that regard.
Everybody the Democrats are putting up for 2008 has promised unconditional surrender the minute they get in office. I'm taking them at their word.

No, you missed the point completely.
