Just remember, when presidential elections come up, I get to pick between two people. In 2000, I got to pick between Gore and Bush. In 2004, Kerry and Bush. Given all I know about all three right now, I would still make the same choice.

You may think that analyzing what a politician would do in a hypothetical situation based on past performance and known policies is utterly useless, but that's how I decided my vote both times. I don't regret my vote even now, and that's how I'm going to do it again in 2008.

Barring some twist of fate, the Democratic candidate will be either an unprincipled leftist with a track record of sellouts lit in neon, or somebody whose primary claim to fame seems to be that he has no record at all. But boy, he looks and talks nice.

I have no idea who the Republican will be, but as of now, I would lay heavy odds I'm going to vote for him or her this time, too.
