Interesting, but much smaller inlet diameter than what I had in mind.
I imagined a giant windsock collecting the wind, channelling it into a rapidly narrowing funnel, where at the throat a small turbine is placed. Of course the turbine could still be large, but the funnel inlet I imagined is 2000 feet tall, and 10000 feet wide, perhaps built on the side of a mountain to ensure relatively steady wind speed & direction.
