If you look at the Left's "laundry list" of symptoms of impending American totalitarianism, the vast majority are paranoid delusions about what MIGHT happen. Actual occurrences, as I've pointed out before, are damn few, damn far between, and almost inconsequential.
You have to understand that I've been hearing this Chicken Little crap all my adult life, and I'm going on 54. I heard it about Nixon, about Reagan, and now about Bush. The Left has declared for over a generation that the U.S. is just months away from becoming a fascist state.
Meanwhile, real totalitarianism is ignored by them at best, and actually applauded by them at worst. I took advantage of Bowser's post to point out what looked to be a textbook case of this--the reviewer of that book. While bemoaning the creeping government takeover in our country, the same person, using exactly the same brain, applauds the creation of one-man rule in another country.
I'm not surprised that my description of the reviewer's intellectual train wreck went clean over Bowser's head. What's your excuse?
