Haven't bought a Marvel comic for myself in years. Warning--political content.
I pick up a "Deadpool" or a "Spider Man" for my son now and then.
If you want to see a pile of simple-minded leftism, try mainstream comic books. The only place I've ever seen more transparent allegories was on the old "Star Trek."
I'm not surprised they killed off Steve Rogers. The modern Marvel writer would have no idea what to do with an honest, pro-American character. I'm surprised they didn't "re-invent" him into some freakish, angst-ridden anti-hero. Over at DC, they've been champing at the bit to "fix" Superman for years. That honest farm boy has bugged them for years. Even Batman calls him a "Boy Scout," and in our modern world, that's no longer a compliment. Like "flag waver."
