Warning--political content.

The comics of today provide an opportunity to educate kids about leftistm because a leftist hates heroes. The registration act bit is exactly what a leftist would do to any real "superhero".

Anyone excelling above the norm is a threat and must be brought down by the common denominator. One sees this in the stories they write these days trying to "humanize" super-heroes and accentuate their failings and dysfunction.

An interesting parallel can be found in the way schools punish excelling students in school - judging them on a harsher scale to "put them in their place" while pushing completely uneducated kids through the system. One teacher was so jealous of an excelling student she orchestrated a fake test that she gave the other students the answers to, just to try and show him up and the class got a good laugh when he appeared unprepared.

That's part of the problem - educators themselves, like comic-writers find themselves in that least enviable of positions: mediocrity. They see those who will never amount to much and those who will far exceed their own socio-economic position. Naturally, human nature comes into play and they often lash out at those who excel - or who show abilities and minds far above the norm. In comics, this lashing out is blatant as they get to takeover these characters and use them as a tool of leftist thought. In our educational arenas, it is much subtler but even more destructive because it poses a real threat to human potential. Again, it's not ALL teachers or ALL writers - only a large enough number to be severely destructive to human potential.

I think in the future, non-human education is essential. It would also be a kick to have pre-recorded lessons from people who have excelled and have these available in all sorts of fields of study. That way our future scientists, engineers and great thinkers will not be dulled by the flat blade of mediocre education, or wounded by the many tiny stabs of those who seek to bring them down to their level. Naturally, one will have to watch out for creating the opposite effect - kids who feel like they are superior to the masses, but our public educational system is so far from that, that this wont be a worry for a long time.
