Number one, unlike a lot of other former presidents, the man will not leave the stage. Ford, Reagan, the first Bush, and even (for a while) Carter, gracefully took their exits and stayed out of things.
With a few notable exceptions, a Republican who loses a major election goes out to play golf, or ranch. Losing Democrats can be found hanging around outside the Capitol, looking in the windows, and muttering to themselves.
Number two, many politicians who are serving during the Bush administration also served during the Clinton administration. Pointing out that Democrats often feel quite differently about the same things during two different administrations is always appropriate.
Number three, with a star-struck culture and media doing their best to rewrite Clinton's legacy--I hope your first sentence was a joke--while at the same time attempting to destroy the current administration, somebody has to point out that the man was basically a better-looking Boss Hogg.
