"I don't think Gore is being consciously hypocritical. I believe he honestly thinks what he is doing is so important that he needs the exemption from the forced deprivations that are being advocated."
Obviously Gore is worse than hypocritical [cf. megalomaniac psychopath] but it's kinder to say he is hypocritical.
How complicated would it would to heat his indoor pool with solar energy- it's probably the simplest and most effective use of solar energy. I wonder how many indoor pools aren't heated with solar power.
Oh, so guess I should look it up:
Indoor pools
Indoor pools are usually constructed of concrete and are part of the basic design and structure of the building they are in. Since they are less affected by outdoor weather conditions, they are particularly suited to solar heating.

"Solar pool heaters survived the boom and bust solar years of the 1970s and 1980s. Today they are even popular and cost-effective in parts of the country where many people think solar is impractical.
In nearly every part of the country, solar pool heaters are a practical and economical way to make pools more comfortable and extend the outdoor swimming season. There are over 300,000 solar pool heaters in the United States, saving money and avoiding the pollution that gas and electric pool heaters cause. Still, this is a fairly small part of the total pool-heating market. Many of the approximately 6.6 million residential pools in the continental United States are heated. The cost of heating these and commercial and institutional pools runs to billions of dollars every year."

Ok, it's not as popular as I thought- though I would guess that there is a higher percentage of indoor pools that use solar energy.
