An indep. state of kurdistan

Would not bring stability to the region. A 'calved off' Shia Southern Iraq would immediately become an Iranian protectorate/de-facto satellite state. The Sunis would be in constant war with the newly formed Kurdistan and the with the new Shia state to the south. The Sunni minorities in both new countries would be ethnically cleansed. Saudi Arabia would not stand by to watch it happen.

Sorry, No easy answers. I Don't know what the answer is, but I don't think thats it.
