I hope they are successful, but it will be a long and difficult journey. I think breaking the country into 3 separate countries would cause more harm than good.

A better way would be for Iraq to develop a "Federal-State" Republican system. Not exactly the same, but similair to that of the USA. That way they wouldn't be limited to just "three regions" but potentially many competeing regions that when combined would work for the common good.

Later Iran and Syria could be asked to join the Republican Federation of Middle Eastern States. (Laugh).
