As someone who has a disease similar to overeating, alcoholism, I should be a bit more charitable about this. I can understand, that like me they are not at fault for having this problem, but also like me they are responsible for what they do about it.
"700-pound woman rescued from bathroom. New Jersey resident had fallen; medical personnel removed wall to get her." Fell down, couldn't get up. Now is that a wake-up call?
"Supersized ambulance hits the road in Vegas. Extra-wide patients require extra-large emergency vehicle."
"A company official said that in the last six months, AMR has handled 75 calls involving patients that weighed more than 600 pounds." 75 calls. Let's say that's between 15 and 25 different people. Good Lord!
There is a simple solution. Don't let them eat anything they can't buy and prepare themselves. Someone out there is feeding them, and cleaning up after them, and everything else. I'm not generally in favor of euthanasia, but in these cases, where someone starts hitting 400 pounds or so, maybe SOMEONE should be a candidate - if not the person then whoever is hauling that stuff in for 'em by the truckload.
And even if it is the old "hormone" excuse, they're still responsible.

I have trouble with this kind of problem. People over 500 pounds.
