The woman in question probably still has the ability to feed herself and pay for it so while I think it is sad I must say it is her affair.

Those that have gotten to the point of laying in a bed and requiring constant care are different. They should be required to prepare and pay for all food.

I recently watched a British TV thing on the morbidly overweight and it was ridiculous. They were eating 25-30,000 calories a day at a cost of sometimes several hundred dollars each day. The UK system was funding much of their care and feeding.

One guy that weighed 900 pounds was convinced he only ate about 2500 calories a day. When he was confronted with the huge quantity fo food he eats every day he said it didn't look like much and soon started eating the example.
