I wasn't intending upon conveying that Mann said there was no amount of cooling, but rather that he denies the cooling. Obviously if Mann thinks the 20th century is warmer than the period of time before the 20th Century, it definitionally means there has to be a cooler period prior to 20th Century.
So therefore you are in affect, accusing me of saying that Mann didn't think there was any warming in the 20th Century [which, I didn't. In fact Mann has claimed that the 20th Century was the warmest period of time in the last 1000 years. Which btw, is different than pwokenyaw's claim that "Current temps are the near the highest of any interglacial period in the last few million years". Though one could quibble with Mann's "warmest" and pwokenyaw's "near highest", pwokenyaw has made a larger and more comprehensive claim that Mann. Mann claim was shown to be not supported by the data and pwokenyaw has yet to make his case.]
Now, if pwokenyaw wants change his statement to "might" or "it's possible", he is under no requirement to prove his statement, but a "probably" requires at least some evidence.
