I agree with you Jody.
It can still happen but both parties have to agree to be content with one another. You can find that in the older couples who are ready to settle down. By then, their baggage is usually enormous, so they have to have laissez-faire attitudes towards it all.
Marriage as an institution is losing it's power and convenience.
Other than for breeding and/or nesting, I think it's almost obselete.
We are now a throw-away society where every place you look, the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. And they market it to you.
