Sounds as if you've mastered the Treo. Very good.
My phone has all those capabilities, too, but I don't know how to use them, and the micro SD card doesn't have the memory I want for books on the trip.
As far as battery life goes, Energizer sells some nifty chargers for mobile devices which use their lithium cells. They also use standard AA alkaline cells, and they work very well.
I found a place which sells generic lithium AAs for $1 each, and have ordered a bunch for my trip. Those will essentially give me unlimited battery life, as the little charger can be used to either charge or power the device.
Now, to try to figure out how to record the 6 to 12 discs a book is into one playlist for the MP3 player. Turning out to not be as simple as I thought.
And, you've done good with the Treo. I envy your expertise.
