Better than having my daughter grow up in a world run by those currently calling the shots at the U.N.
The United Nations is corrupt to the bone, and it's no surprise that all of the statements you refer to basically point to the IPCC and say "what they said."
It's also no surprise that the 2005 statement puts "special emphasis" on the first principle of the UNFCCC: The Parties should protect the climate system for the benefit of present and future generations of humankind, on the basis of equity and in accordance with their common but differentiated responsibilities and respective capabilities. Accordingly, the developed country Parties should take the lead in combating climate change and the adverse effects thereof.
In other words, "We know where the cash is. Go for it."
That the original Kyoto agreement excused heavily-polluting non-Western nations told me everything I needed to know about motivations. I haven't changed my mind.
