What I can't understand...
In the past few months, since Petraeus and the others have reworked the battle plan, we have seen more positive security results than we've seen in a long time. No miracles, of course, but positive results. We seem to have an approach now that works better than before.
Yet in that same time period the opposition to the war has reached a fever pitch, with attempt after attempt to shut it down cold before it's too late. In my cynical moods, I have to wonder, too late for what, or who?
