I'd call your journalists the same thing I'd call a journalist who looked over an open sea where the Titanic had been, and said, "Maybe it'll come back up. Maybe it just needs time. We need to send more tugs into the area."
Out of touch to the point they are no longer a journalist, but a blind advocate of a failed effort.
That's what I'd call 'em. And do. And they are.
