Definition still holds up pretty well.
There are a lot of labels for the same things that depend on whether or not that person agrees with your own views, i.e. has the same biases we do.
"whistleblower" vs. "leaker"
"muckraker" vs. "swiftboater"
"investigative reporter" vs. "snoop"
I'm sure we could all come up with quite a list.
