If some guy (or gal) was out there blogging about physics even though highly knowledgeable, does that make him or her a physicist?
Isn't that a bit skewed? I don't know of anyone who would consider the blogger a physicist, especially if the latter weren't trained as such...but they might consider him/her a science writer...or maybe even a journalist :-)
