The last time I had a drink was on New Year's Eve when the wife and I shared a bottle of Bailey's while watching the Times Square celebrations on TV; and on my birthday in August, she took me out to dinner and we split a carafe of the house red. I am no teetotaler, and enjoy occasionally getting hammered as much as the next guy, but I just haven't had the need or the opportunity for a while now.
The after-work Friday happy hour with the gang at the office has gone out of style lately since they started getting serious about DUI around here. I stopped using psychoactive drugs in 1983 when I was prepping to get my security clearances. The medication I take is the usual precautionary cholesterol cocktail people my age are force fed.
So tell me, Technohombre--what's the the status of your neurological purity? Aren't you about due for a file compression yourself? Be honest now, because my sensitive and perceptive mind has detected you've been sailing just a bit close-hauled lately.
