I'll have to find the Tolland volume. I may have donated it back to the used book resource from which I acquire most of the stuff I read.

I'm sure he didn't mention the type. The context in which he mentioned it was that the Japanese were expecting more bombings at the same frequency as Hiroshima and Nagasaki. I suspect his sources would know, however.
