"The global change does NOT have to be uniform at all. The fact is that worldwide glaciers are melting rapidly, so is the arctic... this WILL lead to sea level increase, it IS leading to water shortages. "
What you saying is inaccurate. Instead of saying "worldwide glaciers are melting rapidly", you could just as accurately say worldwide glaciers are growing rapidly.
Granted that worldwide glaciers are overall shrinking but there is no reason to claim they are shrinking or losing mass rapidly. And it's more accurate to say they are slowly melting, because in comparison to the 10,000 year period of global warming the current rate is much slower than compared to other times. And if look at a shorter period of time of last 2000 years there no evidence it's currently melting than at any other time during this during period. If you look at last 100 years worldwide glaciers during this period have grown and shrink, and in comparison to now it's not melting at faster rate than at other times during the last 100 years.
There isn't any proof that the Arctic is melting or warming at present time faster than compared to other periods of time in last century or longer periods in the past.
Next, glacier melting is not thought to cause significant sea level rise within the next hundred years.
Next, water shortages are mainly a political problem, and can be solved by building dams and melting glacier are not connected to the problem. In fact if one had glaciers melting at a significant rate so glaciers retreat, this could be providing areas that dams could be built in. Now, if you want a constant year round supply of water, glacier can do this, but generally speaking a dam could do a better job of performing this function and have many advantages including flood control.
Lastly, your first sentence above. It's not that it's that inaccurate, but global warming is a uniform warming of the planet, i.e during last 10,000 year we have been in a period of global warming and this means that during this time, most of the time glaciers have been retreating globally and generally global temperature has risen.
